Faux Wood Blinds Offer More Than Just Privacy!

Why would anyone want faux wood blinds when wood blinds are available? That's what I asked myself a few years back when I was looking for window treatments for my new home. The answer I received was that faux wood looks exactly like the real thing but doesn't have some of the problems. For instance, real wood blinds will warp in damp climates. They are also susceptible to other types of water damage. Faux wood blinds won't warp and rot, but they still offer all the privacy of real wood blinds, they help lower heating and cooling bills, and they give a nice, updated look to your home.

Blinds are an excellent choice when you want to keep heat and prying eyes out or let in a lot of light during certain parts of the day. When they fit well, they block a great deal of light. If you have bright lights that shine into your bedroom at night, blinds will also effectively block a lot of the light allowing you to sleep in darkness. Faux wood blinds are no longer equipped with the long cords required for older blinds, either. Some of them can even be operated by remote control making them the most convenient form of window treatments that you could want.

When it comes to keeping heat out and cool air in, or vice versa, faux wood can't be beat. The material is manufactured using the newest technology with PVC and other manmade materials as well as wood particles. These materials are designed to be excellent insulators that will help keep your home at a pleasant temperature year around.

Whereas draperies were the window coverings of choice during the last half of the 20th century, many other styles of window treatments have taken the lead during the 2000s, including all kinds of blinds. If you want to make your home look up-to-date, selecting modern blinds will help you do so.

Faux wood blinds are available in a variety of colors and textures. You can also buy them with tapes of different colors to match your décor. If you can't find the exact blinds you want at a local store, you can always order them online where you'll find a larger selection. Websites make it easy to figure the size you need and to custom order blinds that are guaranteed to fit. They will offer you many options, such as the side of the window you want the blind rod on. Online retailers often have good sales which can end up saving you money.
